What is Falafel?

Papou’s Kitchen Falafel (Hand-made in Portland, Maine) makes these delicious seasoned fritters (which by the way are among the best things made with chickpeas), and these are even vegan! So delicious and so versatile…You should use these in salads, in wraps, or as tasty appetizers.

This Middle Eastern snack is also known as ta’amia. Falafel is a very popular food in the Arab East and is also very common in Israel, where it is regarded as a national food.

These are fully baked. We recommend toasting or pan frying in canola oil until warm, with a tahini sauce accompaniment:
For a fast tahini sauce, mix equal amounts of tahini and plain whole milk yogurt, and season to taste with a little salt, pepper, cumin, raw garlic and add fresh cucumber and tomato. Drizzle with lemon juice.

Product: Falafel Toasties – 12 units x 4 pcs. = 48 units/case
